BACKGROUND
DataLemon is a forward-thinking startup dedicated to making data analytics more accessible and user-friendly for businesses. The company sought to launch a website that effectively communicates its innovative approach and connects with its target audience.
CHALLENGE
The main challenge was to design a website that not only highlights DataLemon’s unique value proposition but also simplifies complex data analytics concepts. The goal was to create an intuitive and approachable website that resonates with users and clearly conveys the company’s offerings.
Technical Constraints:
- Time: Limited to 2 weeks for UX/UI design, iterations, and illustrations.
- Template: Required to use a pre-selected and purchased template, limiting custom design flexibility.
SOLUTION
I crafted a website that clearly showcases DataLemon’s mission, services, and benefits. Key design features included:
- Engaging Visuals: Custom illustrations and interactive elements to make complex data concepts more digestible and engaging.
- Streamlined Navigation: Simplified user pathways for easier exploration.
- Clear Service Descriptions: Concise and straightforward content to enhance understanding.
PROCESS
Research:
Analyzed competitors to identify gaps. Focused on simpler layouts, clear messaging, and a friendly tone to differentiate DataLemon.
User Personas:
Refined personas of business analysts and decision-makers, addressing their pain points and ensuring tailored solutions.
Architecture Plan
Proposed two content hierarchy options aligned with user needs and business goals, guiding the design process.
LOW-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
Collaborated with the copywriter to refine content and with the founders to finalize screen designs approval as they better understood their clients and leads.
UX/UI
- UI Components: Designed a minimalistic navigation menu and visually engaging data illustrations. Focused on usability and brand alignment.
- Simplified Design System: Developed a design system to streamline the development process. This included guidelines to ensure consistency across the website and facilitate effective collaboration with the development team.
- Interaction Design: Incorporated smooth transitions, hover effects, and animated data visualizations to enhance user engagement and create a friendly user experience in collaboration with the developper.
