Client: Génération Gamzon

Overview: Génération Gamzon is an independent network that connects former Jewish Scouts and their supporters from France. The association focuses on uniting individuals who share core values such as commitment, responsibility, community living, public service, and mutual assistance. Grounded in Jewish heritage, Génération Gamzon seeks to sustain and promote these values through various initiatives. Its mission includes undertaking volunteer projects to support communities in Israel and around the world.

Project: Logo Design

Year: 2024

Objective: The primary goal was to create a distinctive and meaningful logo that captures the essence of Génération Gamzon’s mission and values. The design needed to reflect the organization’s commitment to Jewish heritage, community engagement, and global outreach, while also resonating with both former scouts and their supporters.

 


 

Design Process:

Research and Discovery: Drawing on my background as a former Jewish Scout from France, I brought a deep understanding of the history and values inherent to the organization. To ensure an unbiased perspective, I conducted interviews with the Brand and Communication Managers to gain insights into the organization’s vision and the desired emotional tone for the new logo. This process involved exploring how closely the new design should align with traditional Jewish Scout imagery while reflecting the unique identity of Génération Gamzon.

 

Concept Development: Generated several design concepts that incorporated elements reflecting the association’s core values. Explored various symbols, color schemes, and typography that would resonate with the target audience while honoring the organization’s heritage and values.

 

 

Design Iteration & Art Direction:We chose to move away from the previous design, which featured a playful, dynamic style with vibrant colors reminiscent of R. Gamzon’s hat, including energetic orange and fun yellow hues. Instead, we opted for a new logo that highlights connection and reliability, aiming for a more institutional and serious appearance. This led us to a simpler design with two modern fonts that nod to our heritage. The logo incorporates two interconnecting letters and utilizes a refined color palette of blues and teal tones to convey professionalism and trustworthiness.

 

The final logo successfully captures the spirit of Génération Gamzon by harmonizing traditional and contemporary elements, fostering unity and a strong sense of belonging among members and supporters. It enhances the brand’s identity, making it more recognizable and serving as a powerful symbol of the organization’s values and mission, supporting its community outreach and volunteer initiatives in both Israel and France.
